When Finlay Stair came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Jamaica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finlay Stair couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Jamaica booed when FK Crvena Zvezda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isak Hjälm didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Finlay Stair in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leif Browall saved FK Crvena Zvezda from getting behind. Dag Jansson hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Jarell Hill came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Jamaica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jarell Hill couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 25 in the game by Finlay Stair from a close distance when the talented Leif Browall managed to make a qualified save. FK Crvena Zvezda's players were relieved. 28 minutes into the game, FK Crvena Zvezda's Stig-Arne Duset nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Demonde Jacobson had in the 33rdth minute some difficulties stopping Dag Jansson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 33 minutes of play, FK Crvena Zvezda's Dag Jansson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Demonde Jacobson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leif Browall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karlus Waugh in the 37th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Erland Hagström notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson. Demonde Jacobson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Jamaica's Finlay Stair got a free kick in the 51st minute. Andreas Dahlberg's late challenge caught a Jamaica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andreas Dahlberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes FK Crvena Zvezda got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Dahlberg. After a defensive mix-up in FK Crvena Zvezda's zone, Finlay Stair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Browall came out of the goal and Finlay Stair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarell Hill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Browall having to interfere. When Jamaica's Finlay Stair in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FK Crvena Zvezda's goalie prevented a goal. 65 minutes into the match, Karlus Waugh notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of FK Crvena Zvezda's Leif Browall. FK Crvena Zvezda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karlus Waugh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Finlay Stair couldn't finish the play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
