In the 20thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Tobias Elizardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tobias Elizardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 27th minute of play. Tobias Elizardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Sarmiento de Resistencia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mexico played a much better game than Sarmiento de Resistencia and deserved their victory. The Sarmiento de Resistencia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
