With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Roger Västerstrand tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brendan Leblanc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henning Strömqvist hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roger Västerstrand. Kingpins's Brendan Leblanc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the Kingpins defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brendan Leblanc. The Kingpins fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brendan Leblanc should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendan Leblanc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Kingpins's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Moises Gayoso managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 37 minutes into the match, Eliseo Mina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brendan Leblanc. Kingpins's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eliseo Mina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Kingpins were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stiff Rambo took the corner. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Arrigo Tonon made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. Brendan Leblanc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Peru were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the Kingpins defense, Milagros Fraga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brendan Leblanc. The Kingpins fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brendan Leblanc should have stopped the shot. In the 56th minute Roger Västerstrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Västerstrand in the 58th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Rickard Lundgren came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brendan Leblanc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luz Tejedor in the 62nd minute. When Milagros Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milagros Fraga couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendan Leblanc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rickard Lundgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kingpins's Bo Kruuse was substituted for Roger Västerstrand. 79 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brendan Leblanc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Kingpins booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. In the 82nd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Reyes to maneuver through the defense. Stiff Rambo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 88th minute, Peru's Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. The Kingpins fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
