Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Wiktor Wallander however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiktor Wallander having to interfere. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Wiktor Wallander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Åke Jansson was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Åke Jansson came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Zero Hedge defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wiktor Wallander. The Zero Hedge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wiktor Wallander should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of play forced Zero Hedge's goalkeeper Wiktor Wallander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Zero Hedge's Bo-Erik Billberg got a free kick in the 66th minute.
