With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Holger Brask tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Felix Högberg fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandsjöfors FF's protests and gave Felix Högberg a yellow card for diving instead. 24 minutes into the game, one of Sandsjöfors FF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Costa Rica a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Axel Tasis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sandsjöfors FF's Edmund Kämpe. 0-1. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Edmund Kämpe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Felix Högberg was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 40th match minute, Sandsjöfors FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Högberg to maneuver through the defense. Sandsjöfors FF's Edmund Kämpe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Holger Brask to strike the kick off in the second half. Sandsjöfors FF's Edmund Kämpe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Sandsjöfors FF from getting a goal against them. After 54 played minutes Sandsjöfors FF got a freekick which was hit by Simon Gustavsson. After 59 minutes, Axel Tasis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Sandsjöfors FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holger Brask in the 61st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliseo Noboa in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edmund Kämpe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Sandsjöfors FF getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Simon Gustavsson hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmund Kämpe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Edmund Kämpe. 91 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edmund Kämpe. Eliseo Noboa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 94th minute Tord Rydberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Costa Rica played a much better game than Sandsjöfors FF and deserved their victory. The Sandsjöfors FF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
