Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Brodel in the 25th minute of play. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doru Lițu in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Orlando Casaus might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Takis Koutsos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 57th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Takis Koutsos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Takis Koutsos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa spun around in front of the goal 64 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of The Beatles's goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. The Beatles walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
