Abram Sarmiento started the match with the kick off. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doru Lițu's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doru Lițu in the 8th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Zeca Brodel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zeca Brodel let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 12th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 16th minute of play forced The Beatles's goalkeeper Takis Koutsos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Takis Koutsos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. The crowd rose to their feet as Raio Piiroja kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 2-0 in the 20 minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Doru Lițu came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute of the game Elder Santos made a throw-in which Zeca Brodel played forward. 31 minutes into the match, Zeca Brodel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zeca Brodel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 34th minute, Axel Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Takis Koutsos. The Beatles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 39th minute of play forced The Beatles's goalkeeper Takis Koutsos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, The Beatles's Eusébio Lopes got a free kick in the 41st minute. Takis Koutsos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 43rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Takis Koutsos was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doru Lițu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Colombia's Axel Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Takis Koutsos. Takis Koutsos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. A collision led to The Beatles getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Doru Lițu hit a great ball. Takis Koutsos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 67th minute, Denis Rondou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Colombia booed when The Beatles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Rondou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abram Secada's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Takis Koutsos firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Beatles made a substitution. Frederico Messias replaced Evert Österlund. 79 minutes into the game, The Beatles's Marcos Barral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-4. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Barral in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Kevin Mastache got a free kick in the 87th minute. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by The Beatles's Marcos Barral. But to his dismay, Marcos Barral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-4.
