Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Takis Koutsos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elder Santos made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doru Lițu in the 14th minute of play. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Elder Santos made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. Raio Piiroja charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raio Piiroja the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Peru booed when The Beatles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raio Piiroja didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Elder Santos threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Takis Koutsos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Elder Santos in the 39 minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Takis Koutsos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Luz Tejedor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Milagros Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milagros Fraga couldn't finish the play. 57 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Takis Koutsos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elder Santos made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 62 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Takis Koutsos. Julian Murillo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Takis Koutsos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Zeca Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Beatles's protests and gave Zeca Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. Zeca Brodel hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute, Denis Rondou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Takis Koutsos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Beatles made a substitution. Hernani Medeiros replaced Zeca Brodel. The throw-in from Elder Santos in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Julian Murillo succeeded in the game's 79th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. The supporters of The Beatles booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. After a rather tough play, Peru's Emmanuel Reyes got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 84th minute of play forced The Beatles's goalkeeper Takis Koutsos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Gallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Takis Koutsos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Messias in the 90th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Peru played a much better game than The Beatles and deserved their victory. The The Beatles players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
