VN Keleler's Velimir Popchev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 12th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Velimir Popchev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doychin Konsulov in the 17th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Velimir Popchev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the VN Keleler defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Velimir Popchev. The VN Keleler fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Velimir Popchev should have stopped the shot. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Seyit Bozbey, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Eliseo Mina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Velimir Popchev having to make a save. 36 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Velimir Popchev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hakkı Kenan Pınar in the 39th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hakkı Kenan Pınar got free with Rolando Noboa in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Andreas Lund who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Andreas Lund got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind VN Keleler's goalkeeper Velimir Popchev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Erkan Okan in the 63 minute of the game. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harris Zoolingen in the 66th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stuart Byman in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Harris Zoolingen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. 80 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Seyit Bozbey came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Erkan Okan, made in the 86th minute of the game. Rafael Gallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Velimir Popchev didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Milagros Fraga went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
