After a defensive mix-up in Ac Milan's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Mingo came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Maciej Kowalski came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Maciej Kowalski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 12 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Ac Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute, Maciej Kowalski made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everardo Mingo having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Ac Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Everardo Mingo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ac Milan's goalkeeper Everardo Mingo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maciej Kowalski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Mingo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Everardo Mingo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 36th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, Ac Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Everardo Mingo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maksymilian Olejniczak's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Everardo Mingo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ac Milan's Everardo Mingo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Ac Milan's Everardo Mingo managed to reach the ball for a save. Everardo Mingo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maksymilian Olejniczak in the 69th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Everardo Mingo in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 minutes Ac Milan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Everardo Mingo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Ac Milan's Maciej Kowalski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 85 minutes of play, Ac Milan's Maciej Kowalski made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 89thth minute of the game Maciej Kowalski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ac Milan were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ilmi Duka took the corner. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ac Milan had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
