With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Jelte Bleiswijk tried to sneak it across the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, AEK S.C's Jelte Bleiswijk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thanasis Koltsidas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Chile booed when AEK S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donzel Goyeneta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thanasis Koltsidas having to make a save. Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 27th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as AEK S.C's Donzel Goyeneta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thiago Pliego. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by AEK S.C's Jelte Bleiswijk. But to his dismay, Jelte Bleiswijk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 34th minute of play forced AEK S.C's goalkeeper Thanasis Koltsidas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Casaus in the 39th minute of play forced AEK S.C's goalkeeper Thanasis Koltsidas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in AEK S.C's zone, Orlando Casaus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanasis Koltsidas came out of the goal and Orlando Casaus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Donzel Goyeneta came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jelte Bleiswijk made a kick off. After 63 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. It was beautiful to see AEK S.C's Kevin Carreira in action when he in the 65th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donzel Goyeneta in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Donzel Goyeneta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of AEK S.C booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Casaus didn't get a good kick on the ball. AEK S.C made a substitution. Thalis Krommidas replaced Donzel Goyeneta. Thanasis Koltsidas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Carreira came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Orlando Casaus reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thanasis Koltsidas. The goal made the score 2-1. Thanasis Koltsidas made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Carreira in the 87th minute of play. Gerardo Pozo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute of the match Kevin Carreira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thiago Pliego showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Chile's Francisco Carballar got a free kick in the 90th minute. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Carreira in the 93rd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AEK S.C.
