The referee showed Andrézinho França the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilfredo Rodriguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pindobassu EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Felix Montes advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 13th minute. After 15 played minutes Pindobassu EC got a freekick which was hit by Raphael Bertassi. In the 16th minute, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pindobassu EC's Wilfredo Rodriguez didn't even have to move. After 17th play minutes Agustín Saelices shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Wilfredo Rodriguez and just under the crossbar into goal. Wilfredo Rodriguez came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After having played for 24 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nilmar Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilfredo Rodriguez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilfredo Rodriguez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Rodriguez having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Gilberto Cordeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pindobassu EC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pindobassu EC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Gilberto Cordeiro hit a great ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jeff Beck made the kick off in the second half. Wilfredo Rodriguez came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Nilmar Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Jeff Beck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeff Beck in the 66th minute of play. Wilfredo Rodriguez was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 0-5. Pindobassu EC made a substitution. Víktor Donatello replaced Alessandro Pavard. Pindobassu EC made a substitution. Azmi Kamuran replaced Mário Azevedo. After a defensive mix-up in Pindobassu EC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montes missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 86 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Wilfredo Rodriguez right hand side. A collision led to Pindobassu EC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Dorian Hoffmann hit a great ball. Azmi Kamuran's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Azmi Kamuran helped the player get up and apologised. Pindobassu EC:s Wilfredo Rodriguez showed great skill when he stopped Daniel Zorita:s penalty. In the 94th minute, Nilmar Vargas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 98 played minutes Pindobassu EC got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Vargas. The Pindobassu EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
