David Armada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Armada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Armada in the 38th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Armada, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Francisco Carballar hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Johnny Van Havent stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Johnny Van Havent tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Daniel Sbârcea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Francisco Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mariano Lacasa struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Daniel Sbârcea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Johnny Van Havent took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Van Havent in the 68th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Daniel Sbârcea, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Daniel Sbârcea in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Sbârcea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. 86 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Echavarri came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desiderio Perutxo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes of play, Orihuela Club de Fútbol's Desiderio Perutxo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Perutxo in the 95th minute of play. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David Armada was slow to take the kick. During this time Orihuela Club de Fútbol's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Noel Travassos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chile's Thiago Pliego did a great save. Orihuela Club de Fútbol's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
