In the 2nd minute Vinícius Servaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Ceni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of the match. In the 5th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Rogério Ceni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni. Rogério Ceni was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Diamante Negro DK - VV getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jerônimo Salles hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 40 played minutes Diamante Negro DK - VV got a freekick which was hit by Sidney de Queirós. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Servaes, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The Diamante Negro DK - VV fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Diamante Negro DK - VV's Vinícius Servaes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinícius Servaes in the 53rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Rogério Ceni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinícius Servaes in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerônimo Salles was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Rogério Ceni made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Diamante Negro DK - VV made a substitution. Hugo Zonta replaced Willian Félix. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Vinícius Servaes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The Diamante Negro DK - VV support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
