The supporters of Bolivia booed when Squadra Demarchi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Squadra Demarchi's zone, Mario Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Saldanha came out of the goal and Mario Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Pinho in the 10th minute of play. Mario Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Oscar Saldanha made a huge save. In the 15th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Fontirroig to maneuver through the defense. If Paulinho Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Queirós in the 28th minute of play. Camilo Freixa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Pinho in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Richard Moura got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Joshua Miralles got a throw-in 36 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eduardo Fontirroig. When Mario Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Fernandino couldn't finish the play. In the 44th match minute, Squadra Demarchi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Paraibano to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mario Fernandino to make the kick off. Mario Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Saldanha having to interfere. Joshua Miralles made in the 57th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Eduardo Fontirroig. 58 minutes into the match, Bolivia's Mario Fernandino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oscar Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Squadra Demarchi's Claudinho Pinho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. A collision led to Squadra Demarchi getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ciro Castro hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Nelson Vidal in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bolivia's Julio Chicote. The long shot by Nelson Vidal in the 74th minute really tested Camilo Freixa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 74th minute, Francisco Gallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Squadra Demarchi's Claudinho Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Paraibano came free, but Camilo Freixa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Kléber Queirós ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Freixa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Kléber Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere.
