Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Velhos's Karl Nietlisbach. But to his dismay, Karl Nietlisbach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 28th minute. The supporters of Matos Velhos booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luca Rouco kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Vilhena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 42nd minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Vito de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Matos Velhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Böcklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Mancebo might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito de Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vito de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Júlio Gentil recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa. Júlio Gentil showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Matos Velhos's Özdemir Saygur was substituted for Generoso Silvino. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Lee Beckford replaced Karl Nietlisbach. 71 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. Matos Velhos's Júlio Gentil was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 91st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vito de Godoi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4.
