Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Moruga during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. 10 minutes into the match, Marijus Lukšys notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Skirmantas Balinskas in the 14th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Skirmantas Balinskas in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the game, Eglynas's Skirmantas Balinskas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 27th minute Antoni Ciempa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute of the match Eglynas got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marijus Lukšys ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Marijus Lukšys got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benito Sanz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Eglynas's Skirmantas Balinskas in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doğan Akbudun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Doğan Akbudun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Doğan Akbudun made the kick off in the second half. Doğan Akbudun had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 60 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a Eglynas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Eglynas booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 70th minute. Doğan Akbudun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Edmundas Donskis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-8 in the 80th playminute. A hard shot 84 in the game by Skirmantas Balinskas from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 96th minute. Eglynas's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
