Limeira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Robbie Southgate quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Robbie Southgate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robbie Southgate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 31 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 47th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Robbie Southgate. Independente F.C. Limeira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The Independente F.C. Limeira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when 高坤源 made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorian Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 高坤源 in the 54th minute of play. Robbie Southgate was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luís do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Robbie Southgate was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 64th minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robbie Southgate made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. In the 72nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robbie Southgate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Independente F.C. Limeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. 高坤源 didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 高坤源 in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind.
