Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Chile's Mariano Lacasa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roman Gdaniec's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Gdaniec in the 7th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chile's Jose Manzanedo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gaizkine Babia in the 10 minute of the game. Lastur Murcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Girona FC's Lastur Murcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Lastur Murcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Girona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Lastur Murcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lastur Murcia came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jüri Haiba kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Gdaniec in the 30th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lastur Murcia came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Pedro Indiano kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Girona FC's David Palau was substituted for Roman Gdaniec. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Palau to strike the kick off in the second half. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lastur Murcia having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Lastur Murcia in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Palau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, David Palau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Girona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Palau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Girona FC made a substitution. Berkay Yetiş replaced Joaquim Lustosa. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Girona FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chile:s goal. In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Chile. Mariano Lacasa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lastur Murcia. 0-4. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berkay Yetiş in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of Chile booed when Girona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaizkine Babia didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Palau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berkay Yetiş, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute, Berkay Yetiş left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Girona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Lastur Murcia made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Palau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Chile's Pedro Indiano got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Palau in the 99th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match was over Chile could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Girona FC throughout the match.
