In the 8th minute of the match, Eugenios Iordanis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 13th minute Giannis Vrakas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iraklis Vazakos came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. But to his dismay, Patricio Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iraklis Vazakos saved Αστέρας from getting behind. Theocharis Violopoulos charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Theocharis Violopoulos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th match minute, Αστέρας was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theocharis Violopoulos to maneuver through the defense. Αστέρας's Iraklis Vazakos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 31st minute of play. Vassilis Batziss short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vassilis Batzis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, Eugenios Iordanis notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eugenios Iordanis to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iraklis Vazakos having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manolis Dilberis kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Iraklis Vazakos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 70th minute of play. Iraklis Vazakos came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Iraklis Vazakos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Iraklis Vazakos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Iraklis Vazakos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Αστέρας's Eugenios Iordanis in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. 91 minutes into the game, Αστέρας's Eugenios Iordanis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iraklis Vazakos having to interfere. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
