Larkins Potter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play forced Wara's goalkeeper Elias Urdaspal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Larkins Potter in the 30th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cheb El-Hadi was slow to take the kick. During this time Wara's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Cheb El-Hadi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 38th minute of the match Wara got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cheb El-Hadi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cheb El-Hadi made a great header on Wara's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Elias Urdaspal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 44th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cheb El-Hadi. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Larkins Potter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larkins Potter in the 60th minute of the match. Wara's attentive Taha Rami managed to snatch the ball when Primitivo Andino made a throw-in in the 69th minute of the game. In the 71st minute, Larkins Potter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Larkins Potter came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Wara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Larkins Potter couldn't finish the play. Jean-Baptiste Boulebda kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Larkins Potter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wara's supporters rose to their feet, but Larkins Potter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Elias Urdaspal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Wara getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Jean-Baptiste Boulebda hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Larkins Potter in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Faouzi Louahla notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Wara were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
