Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 8th minute of the match, Raik Topuz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 12th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olympique Fribourg's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. If Florian Plouffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 35 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tristan Arioli was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raik Topuz, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Tristan Arioli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Steiner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Matt Metzger hit a great ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita took a good shot, in the 47th minute, which hit the crossbar above Tristan Arioli's head, and flew over the goal. Olympique Fribourg's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Ecuador.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florian Plouffe was the one to do the kick off. Matt Metzger's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matt Metzger helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd minute, Matt Metzger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remo Pürro during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Remo Pürro hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristan Arioli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Schroeder to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tristan Arioli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 69th minute, which Tristan Arioli however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Tristan Arioli in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Raik Topuz came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Olympique Fribourg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raik Topuz couldn't finish the play. Camilo Gisbert was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 75 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Florian Plouffe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique Fribourg's supporters rose to their feet, but Florian Plouffe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tristan Arioli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Ecuador played a much better game than Olympique Fribourg and deserved their victory. The Olympique Fribourg players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
