Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Jerônimo Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerônimo Magalhães got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jerônimo Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Bruno Beldad got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serginho Lusa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Jerônimo Magalhães notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 48th minute, Silveira's Jerônimo Magalhães dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Silveira's zone, Maximiliano Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serginho Lusa came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Jerônimo Magalhães put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerônimo Magalhães's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Jerônimo Magalhães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Silveira's Dário de Mendonça shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Silveira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-3. After 97 played minutes Silveira got a freekick which was hit by Beto Carvalho. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uruguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Silveira.
