After 12 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. 14 minutes into the match, ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Ian Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Álvaro Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 minutes, Hugo Ferrant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luiz Paulo Camargo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. 1-0. A collision led to ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Pedrinho Carvalho hit a great ball. Luiz Paulo Camargo charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luiz Paulo Camargo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luiz Paulo Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Ian Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 29th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ian Brasil saved ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ian Brasil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 44 minutes, Teodoro Prestes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro Prestes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. If Teodoro Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Ferrant made in the 67th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Fiori Diniz. Elói Maciel hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Ian Brasil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™'s Fiori Diniz. After 77 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Prestes in the 92nd minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
