Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 8th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jan Bykowski did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant 11 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Bykowski got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC - Curitiba's Jan Bykowski. But to his dismay, Jan Bykowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 21st minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jan Bykowski fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 22 minutes into the match, Zhang Yin Si dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 3-0. Jan Bykowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Bykowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto da Rocha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matouš Carda in the 34th minute. August Wahlnäs received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but August Wahlnäs slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 35th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After having played for 54 minutes, Matouš Carda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC - Curitiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matouš Carda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Jan Bykowski sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Bykowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fausto da Rocha was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Fausto da Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto da Rocha saved AFC - Curitiba from getting behind. In the 90th minute August Wahlnäs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matouš Carda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AFC - Curitiba.
