Mauro de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Vito, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ramiro Nicholas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paulo Renato Souza showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Feliberto Fraco to make the kick off. César Alagoano hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Barrilete Cósmico FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nova Iguaçu MZFC.
