With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Niculae Ungureanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Steffen Michalsky hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 12th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Axel Montenegro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andriy Lunin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Elodio in the 17th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pascual Carballar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andriy Lunin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. Bernardinho Alagoano tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Andriy Lunin. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Abram Sarmiento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andriy Lunin. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abram Sarmiento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. made a substitution. Chen Zhen replaced Ödön Szily. 39 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when David Elodio came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Elodio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manzanares having to make a save. A hard shot 42 in the game by David Elodio from a close distance when the talented Pedro Manzanares managed to make a qualified save. Colombia's players were relieved. Pedro Manzanares stood somewhat misplaced when David Elodio came free in front of goal and shot 2-2 to the left of him in the 42 minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, David Elodio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 54th minute, Nemanja Vidić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Eustaquio Brufau fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s protests and gave Eustaquio Brufau a yellow card for diving instead. Toralf Hell hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Luis Cazalla got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andriy Lunin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, David Elodio put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After 70 minutes of play, Colombia's Abram Secada made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andriy Lunin was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Henning Fink quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joshua Garrido, made in the 73rd minute of the game. 78 minutes into the game, Niculae Ungureanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kevin Mastache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Andriy Lunin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
