Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sabino Vilhena got the match started through his kick off. 2 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Matos Velhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Böcklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th match minute, Matos Velhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabino Vilhena to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 9 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabino Vilhena in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vito de Godoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Júlio Gentil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Vito de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vito de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 27th minute of play. After 39 minutes Matos Velhos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi did a great save. Adalberto Peres hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique Candal got free with Julio Vera in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Agustín Saelices came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vito de Godoi could save by the left post. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Matos Velhos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 62nd minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jiang Qing Lin in the 66th minute of the match. Matos Velhos's Lee Beckford was substituted for Henrique Candal. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Karl Nietlisbach replaced Sabino Vilhena. Matos Velhos's Özdemir Saygur was substituted for Generoso Silvino. In the 68th minute Matos Velhos were awarded a corner. Júlio Gentil went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Lee Beckford got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Matos Velhos from getting a goal against them. The Matos Velhos fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Matos Velhos's Karl Nietlisbach looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Vito de Godoi to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl Nietlisbach in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Matos Velhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Özdemir Saygur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
