Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, FC Schonebeck's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Lance Malliouris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th match minute, FC Schonebeck was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boris Spengler to maneuver through the defense. Lance Malliouris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 16 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lance Malliouris was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after FC Schonebeck's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lance Malliouris in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lance Malliouris. Lance Malliouris dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt Persson in the 28th minute. Anselm Hayer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lance Malliouris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lance Malliouris quite easily take care of the ball. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Michael Laudrup fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Schonebeck's protests and gave Michael Laudrup a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the FC Schonebeck defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lance Malliouris. The FC Schonebeck fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lance Malliouris should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bengt Persson made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Lance Malliouris when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Lance Malliouris made a huge save. In the 58th minute, FC Schonebeck's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Felix Montenegro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Malliouris having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselm Hayer in the 61st minute of play. The corner ended in Paul Some almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Lance Malliouris made a huge save. FC Schonebeck made a substitution. Lothar Drinkard replaced Anselm Hayer. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lance Malliouris in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 72 minutes, Daniel Sokolski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Schonebeck and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Schonebeck's Daniel Sokolski got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lance Malliouris made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lothar Drinkard in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match FC Schonebeck got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paul Some ran over to the corner to take the kick. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Lance Malliouris threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 94th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Bengt Persson managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Schonebeck's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt Persson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Schonebeck.
