The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Honduras:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Folga:s goal. Edmundo Espiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Reinaldo Azeredo made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 44th minute of play forced Folga's goalkeeper Reinaldo Azeredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Honduras players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Folga were winning 0-2.
