When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Bryan Ramachandran tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute Manchester United were awarded a corner. Daniz Keng went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Afiq Nair heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Artuner having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniz Keng to maneuver through the defense. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 61 minutes into the match, Bryan Ramachandran notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniz Keng in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 73rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Artuner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Danish Ning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Daniz Keng came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Azam Chew, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniz Keng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 93 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Ali Artuner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Manchester United could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
