After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 21st minute. Mihnea Berceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute of play forced Chevaliers FC's goalkeeper Fabian Lucescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radu Borza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Chevaliers FC's Chris Chevalier was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fabian Lucescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 34th minute of play. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Chevaliers FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. Mihnea Berceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radu Borza to make the kick off. Gică Hagi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fabian Lucescu, 1-1. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Radu Borza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Chevaliers FC's Mihnea Berceanu. But to his dismay, Mihnea Berceanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radu Borza in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Mihnea Berceanu struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chevaliers FC. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Radu Borza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot.
