The audience thought a goal was coming when Yu Yang Sang got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yu Yang Sang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a Sagarana Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sagarana Clube's Éder Madureira got a free kick in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Yu Yang Sang to strike the kick off in the second half. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Éder Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rupert Dearden hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Benedito Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Yu Yang Sang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sagarana Clube's Fabrício de Alcântara was substituted for Zé Roberto da Costa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yu Yang Sang in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yu Yang Sang in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Hoffmann came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yu Yang Sang in the 92nd minute of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
