The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, REAL KÊNIA♣'s Kassim Mwangi got a free kick in the 4th minute. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nico Furlan having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Kassim Mwangi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Jose Correa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. REAL KÊNIA♣'s Kryspin Zecman got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute of the match, Kryspin Zecman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Kassim Mwangi in the 22 minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paul Keter's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kryspin Zecman showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 29 minute of play. Nico Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Nico Furlan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Cyrus Otieno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Nico Furlan made a huge save. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Ngigi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Keter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After 71 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. 72 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Kryspin Zecman came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. REAL KÊNIA♣'s Wilson Chuma Akinyi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 86thth minute of the game Kryspin Zecman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, Cyrus Otieno sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move. The supporters of Venezuela booed when REAL KÊNIA♣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kassim Mwangi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 97th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The REAL KÊNIA♣ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
