Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Esteban José Andrada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Guansa's Aaron Sandalio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eloy Aznar was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aaron Sandalio got free with Julio Vera in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esteban José Andrada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Guansa's Anselmo Txilar got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Guansa's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Esteban José Andrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Aaron Sandalio came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Guansa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aaron Sandalio couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Aznar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Guansa's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Esteban José Andrada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Felix Montes advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 36th minute. Aaron Sandalio in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteban José Andrada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Aaron Sandalio sent off a good shot on target. After 44 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
In the 55th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Guansa's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Esteban José Andrada, making the score, 1-3. 62 minutes in the game, Cristian Sancho fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Esteban José Andrada having to interfere. Esteban José Andrada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aaron Sandalio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Sandalio in the 77th minute of play. Daniel Zorita was extremely unlucky when he, in the 80th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 82nd minute Aaron Sandalio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban José Andrada having to interfere. After some careless play in the Guansa defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban José Andrada. The Guansa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban José Andrada should have stopped the shot. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Guansa.
