After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Herman Biörkman managed to get in a good position for a shot. G A I S's supporters rose to their feet, but Herman Biörkman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferit Ortan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Zaldua in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ferit Ortan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, G A I S's Rafael Zaldua got a free kick in the 11th minute. Ferit Ortan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Zaldua in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Nasır SK got a corner. G A I S's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yuan Yi Yong ran over to the corner to take the kick. Staffan Eckegren made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Armağan Temizel sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st minute Rafael Zaldua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferit Ortan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felice Juliano in the 27th minute of play forced Nasır SK's goalkeeper Ferit Ortan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferit Ortan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman Mabalane, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. G A I S's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cléber Marinho in the 29th minute. After taking down the ball on G A I S's corner Cléber Marinho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ferit Ortan quite easily take care of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, G A I S's Cléber Marinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ferit Ortan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Staffan Eckegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armağan Temizel, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, G A I S was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herman Biörkman to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Rafael Zaldua had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ferit Ortan. Nasır SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Zaldua was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armağan Temizel made a kick off. Staffan Eckegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Okanalp Boyraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in G A I S's zone, Okanalp Boyraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Staffan Eckegren came out of the goal and Okanalp Boyraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Okanalp Boyraz in the 56th minute of play forced G A I S's goalkeeper Staffan Eckegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferit Ortan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rafael Zaldua went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 62nd minute Rafael Zaldua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferit Ortan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felice Juliano struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Ferit Ortan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for G A I S. 65 minutes into the match, Nasır SK's Okanalp Boyraz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Staffan Eckegren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The G A I S fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when G A I S's Rafael Zaldua looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. G A I S made a substitution. Pontus Ström replaced Sixten Ekström. In the 72nd minute Armağan Temizel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Staffan Eckegren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Nasır SK's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Zaldua came free, but Ferit Ortan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armağan Temizel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Staffan Eckegren having to interfere. After 84 minutes, Zühtü Mirza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nasır SK and the G A I S players grew even worse after the yellow card. G A I S's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cléber Marinho in the 87th minute. Cléber Marinho made a great header on G A I S's corner, it was just that Nasır SK's Ferit Ortan managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched G A I S eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
