In the 16th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Lorenz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Lorenz came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento. But to his dismay, Isidoro Sarmiento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 39th minute, Siro Frances made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siro Frances in the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lorenzo Lorenz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Lorenzo Lorenz in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lorenzo Lorenz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 66th minute of play. A hard shot 69 in the game by Isidoro Sarmiento from a close distance when the talented Lorenzo Lorenz managed to make a qualified save. Ángel Albirrojo's players were relieved. Alex Cambeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Lorenzo Lorenz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 77th minute of play. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Tomas Berganza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lorenzo Lorenz. That made the score 2-3 after 92 minutes of play. Panama's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
