Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulgencio Ferrer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Fulgencio Ferrer made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Campeones del Mundo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaston Lucila didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Campeones del Mundo's Fulgencio Ferrer got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 24th minute of play forced Campeones del Mundo's goalkeeper Daniel Igon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximiliano Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulgencio Ferrer got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Fulgencio Ferrer sent off a good shot on target. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Seco made a kick off. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Ferrer in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Campeones del Mundo's Fulgencio Ferrer got a free kick in the 59th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Daniel Igon in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 65 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute, Eusebio Afonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guillermo Gorosti took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Campeones del Mundo's Fulgencio Ferrer in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Francisco Seco came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Daniel Igon could save by the left post. Eusebio Afonso hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Campeones del Mundo could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
