The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Xavier Zoido a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, one of Paraguay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paraguay. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco da Cunha in the 8th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Francisco da Cunha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco da Cunha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 28thth minute of the game Jaime Pardo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jumeuc Futebol Clube's Emerson Paraíba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 30th minute Francisco da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Adelino Saldanha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Paraguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jumeuc Futebol Clube:s goal. The goalkeeper, Jacobo Nores, was totally fooled by Jumeuc Futebol Clube's Samuel Melo, who 56 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 61 minutes, Adriano Paranaense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jumeuc Futebol Clube and the Paraguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 61 played minutes Jumeuc Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Paranaense. In the 64th minute of the game Adelino Saldanha made a throw-in which Hamilton Luis played forward. When Francisco da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Jumeuc Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco da Cunha couldn't finish the play. Adriano Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Jumeuc Futebol Clube's Falcão Soeiro got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Hamilton Luis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute.
