With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adelino Saldanha in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adelino Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 42 minutes, Francisco da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jumeuc Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco da Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 45 minutes in the game, Adelino Saldanha fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Francisco da Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
