In the 8th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Bide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseo Noboa during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute, CA La Chola's Aurelio Cordaryal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Aurelio Cordaryal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of CA La Chola protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Aurelio Cordaryal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 23 played minutes CA La Chola got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Cordaryal. In the 24th minute Juan Rubio managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 25th minute of play forced CA La Chola's goalkeeper Juan Bide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CA La Chola's Juan Bide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 30th minute of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Urki in the 34th minute of play. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Juan Bide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with Juan Bide in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by CA La Chola's Aaron Urki. But to his dismay, Aaron Urki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aaron Urki made a kick off. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan Bide was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute, Aaron Urki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CA La Chola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. CA La Chola's Anselmo Arias was substituted for Aaron Urki. In the 90th minute, Wilfredo Navarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, CA La Chola's Wilfredo Navarro got a free kick in the 91st minute. Anselmo Arias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Arias in the 96th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The CA La Chola supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CA La Chola would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
