Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Club Deportivo Álvarez's Alejo Ereinotz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 0-1 became the score in the 3rd minute when Tomas Illescas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Club Deportivo Álvarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ezequiel Lordi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Gaos made in the 15th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tomas Illescas however managed to control. In the 17th minute, Jonathan Venegas made a precise shot to the right of Severiano Raymon. Club Deportivo Álvarez's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 24 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Joshua Secada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severiano Raymon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 29 minutes of play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severiano Raymon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ezequiel Lordi kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severiano Raymon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Tomas Illescas sped through Club Deportivo Álvarez's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Severiano Raymon. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-8 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes Club Deportivo Álvarez got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Lordi. Severiano Raymon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 59th minute of the match. Alex Chicote's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Álvarez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas scored 0-10 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severiano Raymon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 68th minute of the game Guillermo Mariano made a throw-in which Tomas Illescas played forward. Severiano Raymon made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Patricio Costa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Severiano Raymon. That made the score 0-11 after 71 minutes of play. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Severiano Raymon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severiano Raymon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Patricio Costa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 77 minute of play. In the 81st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Raymon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Severiano Raymon was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-13. Severiano Raymon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Correa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 90 minutes in the game, Patricio Costa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Severiano Raymon having to interfere. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Severiano Raymon made a huge save. If Guillermo Mariano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela played a much better game than Club Deportivo Álvarez and deserved their victory. The Club Deportivo Álvarez players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
