Claudio Mele came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 9th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudio Mele read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Johansson in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Mele made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Claudio Mele, 1-0. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Claudio Mele didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudio Mele read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Ivo Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. CF Eleven Lions 2007's Claudio Mele proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save CF Eleven Lions 2007 from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bairon Berger in the 25th minute of play. Claudio Mele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 32nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Mele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Claudio Mele quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Claudio Mele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Claudio Mele in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to CF Eleven Lions 2007 getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gaston Cabrito hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Johansson in the 72nd minute of the match. Claudio Mele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Ivo Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. In the 88th minute, Bairon Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Mele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Mele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 91st minute of play. The supporters of CF Eleven Lions 2007 booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball.
