Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Sengrat having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Rivermania FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Dimas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Rivermania FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Osasun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Sengrat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After some careless play in the Rivermania FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Sengrat. The Rivermania FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Sengrat should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 66th minute of play forced Rivermania FC's goalkeeper Arturo Sengrat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 78th minute. Pablo Palos tried in the game's 78th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Arturo Sengrat. An annoying self made goal, 0-6. Agustín Saelicess short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Arturo Sengrat to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-7 to the left of a surprised Arturo Sengrat 85 minutes into the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nicanor Dimas hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 91st minute of play forced Rivermania FC's goalkeeper Arturo Sengrat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Lauaxeta hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rivermania FC! After a rather tough play, Rivermania FC's Angelo Salbatore got a free kick in the 97th minute. Luis Andino came free with the goalkeeper in the 98th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arturo Sengrat could save by the left post. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rivermania FC throughout the match.
