Marcin Wawro struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RODOS F.C.. In the 19th minute, Wim Jansen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Rab Cura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 22 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rab Cura. RODOS F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind RODOS F.C.'s goalkeeper Rab Cura, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. RODOS F.C.'s Henry Zimmermann got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lakis Traganitis in the 32nd minute of play. Sakis Satrapis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, RODOS F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olgun Ilgıt to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lakis Traganitis went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rab Cura came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 52nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lakis Traganitis in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. Wim Jansen kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. RODOS F.C.'s Rab Cura proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save RODOS F.C. from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sakis Satrapis in the 75th minute of play. Rab Cura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Rab Cura in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Lakis Traganitis came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Dimitris Venieris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. RODOS F.C.'s Petros Meimarakis was substituted for Wim Jansen. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
