Recolta Alamor's Chris Bateman got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chris Bateman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yoel Quevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to Recolta Alamor getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Allan Caudill hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theodore Cagle during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emmanuel Pennington, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Wes Nichols fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Chris Bateman might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chris Bateman ran back to his position shaking his head. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Chris Bateman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonathan Ferrant, passed just outside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Chris Bateman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Recolta Alamor's supporters rose to their feet, but Chris Bateman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yoel Quevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Chris Bateman made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Salvador Gisbert hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Yoel Quevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Brandon Newby got a throw-in 61 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cyprian Rosen. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Bateman in the 64th minute of play. When Emmanuel Pennington came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Recolta Alamor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emmanuel Pennington couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the match, Recolta Alamor's goalkeeper Yoel Quevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman Donnelly's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Recolta Alamor's Phil Riggs quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Guillermo Mariano, made in the 81st minute of the game. Theodore Cagle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Recolta Alamor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Pennington didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cyprian Rosen came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Recolta Alamor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cyprian Rosen couldn't finish the play.
