Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) In the 5th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vítor Baia was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Cassius Byrne capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cassius Byrne really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 9th minute, Arnauld Van Impe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Vítor Baia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A very nice done corner allowed Jacob May to score against Vítor Baia in Brugge United's goal. 2-1 after 13 minutes. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ümit Karan, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnauld Van Impe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Brugge United's Vítor Baia got control of the ball when Jacob May tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 24th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnauld Van Impe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. Marco Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnauld Van Impe went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ümit Karan in the 33rd minute of play. Brugge United's Vítor Baia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Brugge United from getting a goal against them. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ümit Karan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA's Monty Rogers got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Ümit Karan notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for USA! Brugge United made a substitution. Goffrey Sas replaced Guido Vissenaeken. Disappointed in the 2-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Goffrey Sas to make the kick off. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Fabian Brown hit a great ball. Marco Day acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 64th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Waud Huijbrechts. When Cassius Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cassius Byrne couldn't finish the play. Brugge United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Waud Huijbrechts in the 68th minute. Waud Huijbrechts made a great header on Brugge United's corner, it was just that USA's Marco Day managed to reach the ball for a save. If Arnauld Van Impe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Arnauld Van Impe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brugge United's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnauld Van Impe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Laurențiu Roşculeţ got a free kick in the 83rd minute. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. In the 84th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurențiu Roşculeţ to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Ümit Karan tried to sneak it across the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Baker came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khalid Parry in the 96th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Sam Campbell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vítor Baia was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-5. After 99 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Jenson Smith. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Ümit Karan got a free kick in the 101st minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Brugge United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
