After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Arnauld Van Impe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brugge United's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnauld Van Impe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jax Williamson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Canada's Koby Wright got a free kick in the 22nd minute. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Carter George sped through Brugge United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vítor Baia. With his leg Jax Williamson managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Brugge United's Ümit Karan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 57 minutes into the match, Koby Wright had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vítor Baia. Brugge United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Koby Wright was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Vítor Baia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rohan Watson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Filip Edwards cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jax Williamson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 94th minute of play. There was no doubt that Canada were the better team. Canada's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
