Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ademir Costa in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Washington Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Ademir Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademir Costa had several of the Uruguay's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 76 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Joaquin Gayoso as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademir Costa in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. 82 minutes into the match, Camilo Franco notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Palmitos Futebol Clube SC's Washington Carneiro. Washington Carneiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Washington Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uruguay's attentive Arturo Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Paulo Ceresso made a throw-in in the 95th minute of the game. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Uruguay lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
