Apolo Rius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Latocayteva F.C.'s Misael Darroja sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Misael Darroja notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 38 minutes in the game Emmanuel Reyes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Milagros Fraga. In the 40th minute Misael Darroja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 47th minute of play forced Latocayteva F.C.'s goalkeeper Apolo Rius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luz Tejedor in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Apolo Rius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Apolo Rius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Maurino Montiel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Latocayteva F.C.'s Ezequiel Garay got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Latocayteva F.C.'s goalkeeper Apolo Rius, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Apolo Rius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 66th minute of play. Joaquin Prats kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Apolo Rius was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Latocayteva F.C.'s Nesor Vacas was substituted for Misael Darroja. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. In the 87th minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Rius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Gallo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute Federico Reyes suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. In the 93rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Gallo to maneuver through the defense. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Maurino Montiel, made in the 95th minute of the game. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
